Nepal, Namche Bazaar, view towards Mount Everest

Namche Bazaar - a mountain village in eastern Nepal, located at an altitude of about 3,440 meters above sea level
Nepal is a mountainous, landlocked country located between India and China (Tibet) in South Asia. It is best known for being home to the Himalayas, the world's highest mountain range, and the majestic Mount Everest – the world's highest mountain, rising to 8,848 meters above sea level. Despite its small area, approximately 147,500 square kilometers, Nepal contains an enormous variety of landscapes, from the subtropical Terai plains of the lowlands to the snow-capped peaks of the north. Ten of the world's fourteen highest peaks are located in Nepal.
Namche Bazaar - a mountain village in eastern Nepal, located at an altitude of about 3,440 meters above sea level in the Khumbu region, on the edge of Sagarmatha National Park, home to Mount Everest. The village is known as the gateway to Everest and serves as an important trading and resting point for trekkers, climbers and Sherpa communities. It is often in Namche Bazaar that trekkers get their first clear view of Mount Everest. Most people heading to Everest Base Camp or other high-altitude destinations stop in Namche for a couple of days for acclimatization, as the air is thinner here. Despite its remote location, Namche Bazaar is surprisingly lively. It has accommodations, restaurants, bakeries, shops, banks, pharmacies and even internet cafes. Once a week, a traditional market is held where people from all over the region come to buy and sell goods - a reminder of the village's historical role as a trading center between Nepal and Tibet. Reaching Namche Bazaar requires a two-day trek from Lukla, where most treks to the Everest region begin after a spectacular flight from Kathmandu. The route passes along rivers, over suspension bridges and through pine forests, before reaching the steep climb up to the village.
