Oxford – a historic university city in England

Oxford is located in the south-east of England, about 90 km northwest of London. It is best known for the University of Oxford, which was founded in the 12th century and is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious universities. Oxford has a population of around 150,000, a large proportion of whom are students and researchers. Oxford is often called the "City of Dreaming Spires", thanks to its beautiful historic buildings and church spires. In addition to the university, Oxford is a centre for research, education and culture.


Oxford Martin School - an interdisciplinary research institute at the University of Oxford founded in 2005 by British author and futurist Dr. James Martin. The Oxford Martin School focuses on finding solutions to global challenges by bringing together researchers from different disciplines. The school has over 30 research programmes covering areas such as climate change, AI governance, global health, economic inequality and biodiversity. The Oxford Martin School is also known for producing the open database and publication Our World in Data, which is used by researchers and policymakers worldwide to analyse global trends and challenges. The Oxford Martin School is located in a historic building on Broad Street in central Oxford.
