Stjärntorget - a central location in Åre's ski area
Stjärntorget is a central location in the Åre ski area, located at the valley station of the VM6, the WC lift and the Kabinbanan. It is a hub for skiers and cyclists, especially during the winter and summer seasons. The area is sometimes also called "Stjärnplatån" in folk language. From Stjärntorget you have a fantastic view of the slopes of Åreskutan and the surrounding mountains.
Åre is a historic mountain village with a wide range of skiing, shopping, restaurants, bars, hotels and cabins. The ski slopes and views in Åre are recognizable from many World Cup competitions and international travel magazines have repeatedly named Åre one of the world's best ski resorts. Skiing in Åre is divided into three different areas. The most famous is Åre village with Åreskutan in the middle, right next door is the child-friendly Åre Björnen, and a short drive away is Duved/Tegefjäll.
