Vadstena - Sweden
Vadstena is located in Östergötland County, near the southern shore of Lake Vättern, between the towns of Mjölby and Motala. The town is located on road 206, which connects to the E4. Vadstena is a town rich in history and culture, with attractions such as Vadstena Castle, Saint Birgitta's Monastery and the medieval town centre. According to Birgitta's instructions, three gardens were established - an orchard, a spice and herb garden and a grass garden. These gardens were used to grow plants for medicinal use and for devotion. Today, the gardens are a living part of the monastery area, where visitors can experience historical farming traditions. It is an excellent place for those who want to experience Sweden's historical heritage in a scenic setting by Lake Vättern.
