Västervik is a coastal town in northeastern Småland, in Kalmar County, located at the mouth of Gamlebyviken Bay on the Baltic Sea. The town is known for its beautiful archipelago with over 5,000 islands, cliffs and islets. Västervik is often called the pearl of the east coast, a town near the water and a town with many charming houses from several hundred years ago. The first town with the name Västervik was located at the far end of Gamlebyviken, where Gamleby is now located.
