George Mason University's Life Sciences and Engineering Building - new construction between 2022 and 2025

Construction of George Mason University's Life Sciences and Engineering Building at the SciTech Campus in Prince William County, Virginia. The approximately 12,260 square meter (132,000 square foot) building was built by Skanska. Construction began in late 2022 and is scheduled for completion in early 2025. Over 4,700 cubic meters (6,200 cubic yards) of concrete and approximately 700 tons of rebar were used during the construction process. The work required over 50,000 man-hours to reach the building's full height. The building is designed to accommodate teaching and research labs, classrooms, office space, and flexible spaces for collaboration and innovation. It will be used by multiple faculties within the university, including biotechnology, engineering, education, and the arts.
