Huntington Beach - Surf City USA

Huntington Beach is a coastal city in Orange County, Southern California, known as "Surf City USA" due to its strong surfing culture, long sandy beaches, and laid-back lifestyle. The city has a population of approximately 200,000 and is a popular destination for both surfers and tourists seeking sun, sea, and Californian beach culture. Huntington Beach is located approximately 34 miles (55 km) south of Los Angeles, on the Pacific Ocean. It has a Mediterranean climate with over 280 days of sunshine per year, making it ideal for outdoor activities year-round. The beach stretches for approximately 10 miles (16 km), making it one of the longest continuous beaches in California. The waves at Huntington Beach are consistent year-round due to the seabed and jetty structures that create good surfing conditions.

Huntington Beach Pier - one of the oldest and longest in California, first built in 1904 but rebuilt several times after storms and earthquakes. The current structure, made of reinforced concrete, was inaugurated in 1992. From the pier's beginning at Main Street, it leads away from the city towards the horizon, where Catalina Island is sometimes visible in the distance. On and around the pier, fishermen, surfers, tourists, artists and locals meet. Many come here to fish, no fishing license is required. Along the pier you can also often find small stands selling snacks, drinks and souvenirs.
