[CA] San Diego, view of Shelter Island and San Diego Bay - USA

San Diego - California's second largest city, also called "America's Finest City"
San Diego is located at the bottom of Southern California on the border with Mexico. With over 1.3 million residents, it is California's second largest city, but despite its size, it often feels relaxed and accessible. San Diego is known for its mild and sunny climate year-round, with over 300 days of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. It's easy to see why many call San Diego "America's Finest City." Here you will find long sandy beaches, rolling hills, picturesque coastal communities and a lively downtown filled with history, food, music and culture. One of San Diego's most beloved areas is Balboa Park, a vast urban park area with museums, gardens, art galleries and the San Diego Zoo. In the same park, you can walk among Spanish colonial architecture, go to the theater or just sit under the shade of a palm tree. Below the city center, San Diego Bay spreads out, and along its edge is the Gaslamp Quarter - a historic district that now bustles with life with restaurants, bars, galleries and nightlife. Not far away is Seaport Village, a charming collection of shops and cafes overlooking the harbor, as well as the USS Midway Museum, a museum aboard an aircraft carrier.
San Diego Bay - one of California's most protected natural harbors, home to Shelter Island, a narrow, man-made peninsula.
Shelter Island - a long, narrow cape built in the 1950s by dredging sand. Despite its name, it is not a true island, but an extension of the Point Loma area.
