Venice, San Marco Basin - Italy

The San Marco Basin, or Bacino di San Marco in Italian, is a water area in Venice where the city's historic center meets the Venetian Lagoon. The San Marco Basin is located in front of St. Mark's Square and extends towards the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. From the water, you can see, among other things, the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, and the buildings along the Riva degli Schiavoni promenade.
