The construction of the Amphitrite neighborhood in Malmö
The Amphitrite district is a construction project on Universitetsholmen in Malmö, next to Malmö University. The project is being implemented by Veidekke on behalf of Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB and in collaboration with the City of Malmö. The building will be used for university activities.
The new building covers approximately 20,000 square meters spread over eight floors. It will house teaching spaces, offices, common areas, student activities and premises for the university's dental education. The ground floor is planned to house public functions such as an auditorium and service areas.
The project includes the reuse of materials from the previous building on the site. The building is planned to be environmentally certified according to Miljöbyggnad Gold.
Construction is expected to start in 2025 and occupancy is expected to take place in 2027–2028.
